US: Alaska Air IT Outage Grounds Flights for Hours, Forcing Flight Cancellations

Alaska Airlines restored operations on Friday, October 24, after a major technology outage on Thursday grounded flights nationwide, causing over 400 cancellations and disrupting travel for more than 49,000 passengers. The airline confirmed the system outage was not a cyber attack but has not provided details on its cause, marking the second such incident this year. This video shows the chaos and the large amount of luggage at the baggage claim area at Seattle Tacoma International Airport, caused by the system failure.
